The Difference Between Morning and Evening Skincare

1 min read

Mornings focus on protection

The morning routine mainly prepares your skin for the day: a gentle cleanse, moisturiser, and sunscreen as the last step before any makeup.

Evenings focus on repair and recovery

At night the skin is in a natural state of rest and recovery, which makes it the best time for more concentrated products (such as some serums), since they work without interference from sun or makeup.

Evening cleansing is the most important step

Removing makeup and the dust of the day before bed prevents clogged pores and helps your other products absorb better.

Sunscreen is for daytime only

Sunscreen is specifically a daytime product and is not needed in your evening routine, as it does nothing without sun exposure.

Simplicity works at both times

You do not need many steps morning and evening. What matters is sticking to basic steps that suit your skin rather than a long routine you quickly abandon.

These are general tips. For persistent skin or hair concerns, please see a dermatologist.
