How to Reduce Seasonal Hair Shedding

1 min read

Brush gently with the right brush

Using a wide-tooth brush and detangling gradually from the ends upwards reduces pulling and breakage compared with brushing hard from the roots.

Avoid tying your hair too tightly

Very tight styles worn every day can put extra pressure on hair follicles over time. Change your style now and then and loosen the tension.

A balanced diet

Overall nutrition is reflected in your hair. Balanced meals with vegetables, fruit and protein support hair health in the long run.

Limit heat and harsh chemicals

Strong dyes and repeated high heat weaken hair over time and increase shedding and breakage.

Note: Mild seasonal shedding is usually normal, but if you notice heavy or persistent shedding it is best to see a dermatologist to find the cause.

These are general tips. For persistent skin or hair concerns, please see a dermatologist.
